I love politics! - no, not the complex negotiations which involve hours sitting round a table, hurried consultations with different individuals, carefull offers placed, and then quickly withdrawn, before eventually a comprimise on an issue completely different to the one initially under discussion is worked out to the dissatisfaction of every party ( Read more... )

Well... I've been saying all year one or the other.
Competition for (and within) MFAT is pretty tough though. - you need to be super intelligent, way over-qualified and really ambitious.
... It'd be sooo cool though.

um... the ammount of time it will take to get over-quallified, plus weather or not I'm ambitious enough... I'm not going to comment on the other bit.

I do see your point. but you obviously would really love to do it; it pays well; you're certainly bright enough; so what's the time factor to stress about? You have your whole life.

Hey, I learnt a new word in French* the other day. Glasnost. It's a policy of public openness and accountability (according to the Collins) and it was first used or named by Gorbachev. Interesting, huh? :P It's totally on topic for your post which is why I mention it.

*in French class, that is. The word itself is englsih. From the russin, presumably.
