That's supposed to be one of a guy's greatest sources of joy, after all --- doing battle with whatever the kids wrecked now. That and that lawn thing. I can't even imagine how empty those kid raising years would of been for me without coming home from work and having to overhaul the ice dispenser or other nifty little toy trying to make the black smoke stop, then getting to scream, "John Boy, if you suck your brother up with this thing one more time, I'm going to tear you a new one!" Seriously, Golumette got to about the end of her rope on this one, because you can't really afford to teach them that carpets vacuum themselves, or that mom's going to come over and do it for them after they move out. So we ended up buying a heavy duty shop vac, that's DESIGNED to suck up Fort Knox, half a hardware store, pets, neighbors, dead guys, etc. Then it only gets to be a problem after they move out and wreck their own vacuum cleaners.
