Zero and X talk

X had finally, finally been released from Medical. Oh sure, he'd only been in there a few days, but that was definitely long enough for Zero. In fact, as far as Zero was concerned it was more than long enough. And between visiting X in medical, having that lovely talk with Dr. Cain, and having to deal witht he aftermath of the Sprocket Squirrel

X had been released from Medical, but it'd be another day before he was allowed back on duty, much to his chagrin. Dressed in civilian clothing, X left the labs, feeling only a vague soreness from the places that had been damaged the most. He didn't feel like it was enough to keep him off duty, but the med techs' word was final. So, X headed for his room, thinking about taking a shower. It had been days, after all, since he'd had one. He still had dust from the factory floor on him.

Which was just kind of ew. As it was, Zero ran into him in the hallways.

"There you are! I've been looking for you, X," Zero said, falling into step next to the other 'roid.

"You can't have been looking for long," X commented wryly. "I was only just released from Medical." He ran his fingers through his hair and sighed. "I need a shower."

"And I need a break," Zero said. "You want to do something after you get clean?"

X winced. "Do I want to know how much you told him?" He traced idle patterns on his bed sheet, feeling suddenly very... nervous. Now, why would that be?

"I didn't really tell him much of anything. Though he was a sneaky bastard in the way he brought it up," Zero said, snorting softly.

"I think I'd prefer not to know." X shook his head. If he was completely honest with himself, he'd probably end up blushing to no end because of whatever had transpired between Dr. Cain and Zero. "What did you want to talk to me about?"

"I wanted to talk to you about the mission. Particularly the way you handled that weird maverick squirrel," Zero said simply.

He was still making sounds, though, small as they were, and he was moving in response to X's touches. That was good enough for X.

"I like it when you touch me, too," X murmured. His hand was at the bottom of Zero's shirt. Out of curiosity and a vague impulse, he slid his hand underneath the shirt and brought it back up Zero's back, enjoying the feel of smooth skin.

"Good," Zero said.

And then he kissed X, his own hands trailing down the other Hunter's back. He did have to admit, it was kind of nice to see X take the initiative sometimes. Like now.

Really, it wasn't like X was the only one taking the initiative here. Zero was the one who started the kissing, after all, although X was more than happy to encourage that. He pulled Zero closer with the hand that was under the shirt, then let it return to wandering. Zero's hand on his back...

Well, no wonder Zero was making small noises.

Zero followed X's lead and slid his hand up under X's shirt, even as he continued kissing the other repliroid.

He was even purring faintly into the kiss.
