It's Begun

I don't have school today. The teachers are in Nagano eating school lunch and having a meeting about it. Don't ask me why. Since they forgot to tell me until yesterday, and I don't eat school lunch anyway, I got out of it to clean my apartment instead. So far I have three bags of burnable trash, one of non burnable, a huge plastic box of clothes, box of books, and a box of toiletries. Not to mention the box I sent on Monday and the 2nd box that is now full. I need more boxes! :)

I'm doing pretty well though. My book cabinet is 75% cleaned out, as is my wardrobe. My closet is at about 50% as is my dresser. And then there is the kitchen. It's a little difficult because some of my household items will go to Mark's, Matt's or Julie's successors. Mark's because my cooking stuff is in better shape, Matt's and Julie's because their successors aren't a couple, so Matt and Julie's things will need to be divided between two people.

A lot of my big items (table, hot carpet, etc) are already spoken for, which is nice. I need to start getting those things out of my apartment as well. At my bbq next week, I'll have all of my for sale stuff out, so people can pick through if they want. Then the Sayonara Sale will be the next day. And then whatever doesn't sell will either go to Hard off or in the trash. I hate throwing things away, especially perfectly good things, but there isn't much else to do.

Akiyama called yesterday and had me come to city hall. Getting right to the point, he wants me or someone else to skip school and go around with the sister city group from Fairfield, CA. Fine, except it's in July and those who aren't going off on vacation are probably going home. Of course, part of it would be a free trip to Kyoto/Hiroshima, but it's my last week of school and Mr. Furuya said I shouldn't go. He's right, of course, but it WAS tempting. I'll probably skip a few hours to do things at the beginning of their trip, but I honestly don't get why they don't have a translator with them. Whatever.

And I still need to write about the wedding. Will do it very soon, I promise!!
