Friday night I stayed home and it was lovely. Saturday I ran to the gym around noon, and then went back home to get ready for Tokyo. I didn't have a whole lot of time and I was a little worried I wouldn't make the 5pm train from Ryuo, but I did, barely.
Mark and I met up with Julie and Jason who were walking to the station as well, and we met Thilmin there. We got to the Vault early and snagged a table. Before the show started, so as not to detract from why we were there, we gave Thilmin her birthday cake. We were actually at the vault for "Yennies for Kennies". Our friend, Courtney's mom's house burned down recently, so she put together the fund raiser. 4 of the boys played music and we all brought in our change.
At 7:45, those of us in our Urban gear, headed to the station to catch the local train to Tokyo.
This is before the rumble.
Looking Urban.
Anyway, we got into Tokyo around 11pm and went to Shibuya. Then we met up with Thilmin's friend and walked to the club, Club Harlem. It was 3000yen to get in (about $25) with two drink tickets. Once inside the door they made us stash our cameras in lockers, what??? Lame.
The club was ok, I guess, but I found it a bit pretentious. Apparently it's the best hip hop club in Tokyo. But they kept playing songs I liked for about thirty seconds and then changing to something unknown, it was so annoying. We seemed to be the only foreign girls in the place for most of the night and supposedly foreign guys can't get in unless they are with girls. It's also been my experience in places like NY and London, that the cover fee is negotiable, especially if you have a big group. There were 13 of us, and we all had to pay.
The birthday girl
Anyway, we stayed until 4ish and then decided we'd had enough. We found a 24 hour mcdonald's and had breakfast and then caught the train home. We got back to Ryuo at about 8:30 and the best thing happened, the ticket man was busy, so we didn't have to pay more than the base fair 130yen. It should have been over 2000yen. Woooo. Then we slept until 2.
We went to Ghost Rider yesterday afternoon, and it wasn't terrible. I'm not a Nicholas Cage fan though. And that was my weekend. Fast, but fun.
And now I feel sick. Lovely.
