I just taught a class of second graders with another teacher and they were absolutely horrible. She taught them in English for most of the time and all they did was talk in little groups. Even the kids in the front row. It was ridiculous. I don't know about where you went to school, but at mine, if you talked when the teacher was talking and didn't stop EVER, you probably wouldn't be in class for long, you'd be down meeting with the Vice Principal. Maybe my teachers were stricter than most, but whoever said that Japanese kids are so well behaved, was obviously misinformed. And there's nothing I can really do to change these students, because sadly, their school would have to change first. They've had JET teachers for about 20 years promoting cultural learning, maybe in another 20 years they'll figure out how to get the kids to shut up long enough that they might actually learn something from us.
Bitter Bitter. Can I go home yet?
