I know, I haven't posted a meaningful entry in quite awhile. There are a lot of reasons for that, but they'd sound like excuses. So, here's a bit of an update.
I'm not sure if I've mentioned it, but I have an idea of what I want to do after Japan. I am applying for the Mountbatten Internship Program in London. If I get in, they'll give me an apartment and a stipend and I'll get to work in London for a year in an Internship that they place me in. Everyone asks, "Where will you work?" and the answer is, "I have NO idea." and I won't for sometime. Right now I am furiously finishing my application so that they can get me in for an early interview when I go out to New York for Dennis' wedding. Early is an understatement. If I do the program, I'll go over to London next August some time. It feels like I'm applying for Jet all over again, with this long application process. Who's to know what could happen in the next few months? Oh well. Weeeee here I go on another adventure.
So, what do I need to do?
1. Online Application
2. Resume
3. Personal Statement
4. Transcript
5. Application Fee
6. Headshots
7. 3 Reference letters
I think that's it. I just finished my resume, but the personal statement is giving me some trouble, how to sound candid, and yet professional. Writing this blog has probably affected my writing for the worse as it is hardly professional. Again, oh well.
Besides that, I've got Design Festa coming in a mere three weeks. Excuse me while my head spins around as I look at the calendar in shock. Holy crap I have a lot to do. Tomorrow is pay day, so I'll be out buying new ink cartridges and getting to work. I'm worried about taking too much merchandise or not enough. I have 1000 postcard sleeves, so I guess I'll focus on getting those filled and then worry about the rest. And oh my god, I just remembered that I have to request my table and chairs and things. You see, when you pay for the space, that is all you pay for, a space of cement in a HUGE exhibition hall.
And then there is my trip home, for which believe me, I am counting the days. But now, because of the interview I have to do in NYC, I may have to book a plane ticket and inconvenience a friend or two for a few days. It's great though, if they can get me in for the interview when I am in NY for Dennis' wedding. Otherwise I'd have to fly from Japan, just for an interview. I think it's time to make a list of things I have to do. Someday I'll tell you about Hiroshima. Really. I will.
