The fun things in life
Well, i have to say that the conference was successfull. I learned a lot, and not just about forensics. It seems that I go to school with a bunch of alchys. We had a nice party on thursday. Itwas held in D's room. (for the record, i will use initials to protect the not so innocent, although i don't think i have to worry since only one person reads this thing. But, me being the nice person i am, i will give them some sort of dignity.) It turns out M can't hold her liquor. I think it had something to do with taquilla shots after the friggin beer. I thought that mixing shit like that would make you sick. Yeah it did. I was a good girl and only had two white russians. D made them. They were tasty.
Now on to the conference itself. there wasa really good blood spatter (please people for the lov e of all things greg sanders, do not call it blood splatter..........it's spatter.) class. We actually got to do a presumptive blood test. Basically it was making the swab turn magenta. That was kewl. Then we got to look at crime scene pics and tell what happened. The photo forensic class showed us how luminol and Blue Star really work. Yes they did glow, however it's actually not as bright as I thought it would be. The other class on IAFIS and tire imprints was good too. All in all it was very informative, and i'm really looking forward to the one in the spring. It will be held right here in Winston-Salem. Therefore, I will be able to go home and sleep in my own bed, without roommates. I loved them to death, don't get me wrong, however, there was too much drama when M got sick and K and I had to babysit her.
My surgery went well today. It's not a tumor, Thank God, it's just a nice pocket of infection. My surgeon cleaned it out and sewed my gum back up. Now I'm on very good pain killers, and I took my class off tomm so i can recupe.
Topher love, there will be no goodies from conference this time. Apparently they were going the cheap route, but if you can wait till spring, I will be able to get things then. The company that sponsered the spring one last year was kick ass, and they had some awsome things to give away.
