What Is Up With American Daytime Soaps??

There are so many daytime soaps here, some are 'normal', some are unrealistic, most are full of inbred characters, but some are just so damn crazy I have no idea how they stay on the air

megas we got passions in australia and i have to agree the stuff they take off and they left that crap on *shudders*

Australia used to get Another World when i was little i remember mum used to tape days of our lives, another world lol

and yes bold and beautiful... i think brooke has done the rounds about 4 times now in that one family.. its like for crying out pick one brother or father and friggin stay with them LMAO

Each time there is a relationship change I have to roll my eyes. Still, I am amazed that these people work in the same soap for 20+ years. It must pay well.

I have to think about why some of these shows are on more carefully. Now and then all they are competing with are half-hour time slots of people selling more shit people don't need. Half of the timslots on American television is made up of infomercials. I know that happens on some of the free-to-air channels in Australia at 3am or so, but some channels here, on cable channels too, have them running all through the day. Whatever pays the channels bills I suppose...
