I use Windows Movie Maker to get the screencaps, and GIMP to edit them into gifs. It takes a while because GIMP is a very basic, free program and I have to work on every frame individually, but aside from some of them being a little grainy if it's a colourful shot, I like the way they turn out.
Okay, sweet. I actually have both of those programs, and while I started posting .gifs I had collected in a couple of my journals, I have a few fandoms I know the only way I'm getting a .gif for them is to make them myself. Of course, there's the issue that I don't have access currently to the shows, but, I do have a couple of movies I would want to do, so I could try that when I'm feeling extra ambitious.
