Watched two movies today......one restored my faith in humanity and one drained it all away again...
We are Marshall...........oh so good! I cried from the very beginning until the very end. McConaughey was phenomenal in it (and not even just hotness-wise....he really acted well), and I also enjoy Matthew Fox. I cannot begin to imagine what that town and that school went through. The movie was done in a really tasteful and respectful manner, and really emphasized the struggle back from a tragedy instead of the tragedy itself. It was heartbreaking watching the ones who should have been on the plane deal with that reality, and even harder watching those who lost family members learn to move on. I highly recommend this flick.......it will make you cry, but it will also leave you with a feeling of hope and a sense of their accomplishment.
The Last Kiss......oh so horrible! I watched it solely based on the fact that I enjoyed Garden State so much, but I could not have been more disappointed. The whole movie made me want to hate all men. The lead character (Zach Braff) had the perfect woman, pregnant with his child, and he pretty much threw it all away for a perky little college chick who practically threw herself at him even after finding out he was attached. There were some graphic sex scenes that I could have done without, and there was basically only one guy in the entire film that I even thought was a decent human being (hint: it wasn't Braff's character). Where the other movie left me with a feeling of hope, this one left me feeling cynical. I am so a happy ending kind of girl, and even though this ending was "happy", it wasn't the ending I wanted or felt the main character deserved....it was pretty much a waste of my time, and I wouldn't recommend it. On a brighter note......it had some phenomenal music in it, and I may have to get the soundtrack.
So anyways.....that's my day. Also went to Wally World and procured many household items that were in much need. Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!
