We have a semi-formal coming up this weekend and Cotillion two weeks after that. I have no dates and no dresses. This could be problematic (the dresses more than the dates). Last year's cotillion was so much fun I'm not sure if this year's is going to live up to it. I mean, our preparty alone was too great to be repeated (it definitely involved everyone holding beer in one hand, saluting the giant American flag on the wall in the other, and singing "Proud to Be an American" at the top of our lungs). I'm pretty sure I'm over the entire male population at Colby and am really excited for an entire country of EU guys once I go to England.
I was thinking about this: a lot of people find accents sexy. Now, is it possible (as I have been thinking) that the only reason we find accents so sexy is that our biological drive to produce offspring with as variable DNA makes us attracted to people with foreign accents because it ensures a very diverse mix of genetic information? Are our genes really defining whether or not we are attracted to someone because of the way we talk? Do normal people think about this sort of thing? (Here's a clue, the answer to at least one of those questions is no)
