It is amazing where my mind takes me.  I manufacture completely believable senerios in my mind based on a look or a tone of voice.  I convince myself of something, that so-and-so is mad at me, that my minor mistake will result in termination, and I run with it.  There is no telling me otherwise.  Do any of you do that?  Do you find yourself ( Read more... )

It's a fine line between "truth" and paranoia... I have found, strangely, often enough that my instincts are better than I give myself credit for. I don't think men talk to themselves like this (of course, they generally aren't as sensitive to minor details either).

I think that you have very healthy instincts that you should trust. For me, at least, this sensitivity leads you naturally to want to take action on these things, when just as often as your boss will want to fire you, they will be glad they hired you!

Just as we don't tend to trust our instincts enough, we don't give enough credit to the universe for balancing itself out -- so when nothing happen (i.e. you aren't fired), you just come down on yourself, thinking you were crazy.... when really, you aren't.

YOU AREN'T.

At first I was appalled by your response, thinking "I'm NOT crazy. This IS happening.", but then the day played itself out and the situation turned out to be nothing like I was imagining. So, I tell myself again that I am not crazy even though this reaction was based on imagination and not instinct. Or was it instinct? I knew something was "off", something was "wrong", it just wasn't about me. Thank heavens the universe balanced itself out - with some help from you.

this is so funny.... I am not sure if you understood me (I meant to reassure, not appall!), or if I understand you now... I'm totally confused --- which happens sometimes when we're communicating electronically. But YAY! it sounds like it all worked out:)
