I am content.

I haven't updated in awhile, then again, I'm not really sure if anyone reads this, so I guess it doesn't really matter. But on to happier thoughts: Last night I finished decorating one of my spirals, and I put a fortune on the front that reads: "An optimist is the human personification of spring." That is by far the happiest little fortune I think I have ever received.

School is going well. The roommate that I had never really met before, turned out to be quite lovely. So far we have thoroughly enjoyed our oven, and we've baked Ghiradelli brownies, banana bread, I made tortilla chips, and needless to say, the stove isn't lonely either.

Every once in a great while, I'll feel that pang of regret that I didn't go to culinary school, when I'm cooking up a nice southwestern omelette, rolling up a breakfast wrap, or saute-ing some onions and garlic to go with our organic pasta. But then again, I never would have met or experienced all the wonderful people and events that I have at this "institution."

Listen to Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto #1 in B Flat Minor, Op. 23, from the Best of Tchaikovsky CD, and on itunes it says the artist is 1. Allegro Non Troppo E Molto Maestoso- Allegro Con Spirito (Excerpt)
Seriously, it's 10:20 minutes long and it's like listening to eight songs in one. If you can purchase it on itunes, I highly recommend it. 99 cents seems like nothing, you'll get your money's worth.

I applied to six different businesses last week and none of them has called me or emailed. I called Native Sun, because I would really love to work there, but no response. Ah well. I really need a job soon!

The first day of my internship went exceedingly well. If you appreciate art in any way, shape, or form, you'll understand how amazing it is when someone tells you that your first project as a new intern is to spend as much time as you want roaming every gallery in a museum, alone, and also play in the children's area. The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens=love. I never realized they had so many well-renowned artists and pieces in such a relatively tiny museum. Rubens, Bernini, Japanese wood block prints, Vasari, and numerous ancient Greek, Roman, Etruscan, and Egyptian antiquities. They asked me to play in the kid's part, and I literally spent about an hour cutting and pasting, coloring, and playing with the various computer activities. Our fridge now looks like a fridge. *grin* I have my own office. I have never had my own office before. There are posters of classic works of art hung up, a desk, and a computer, and shelves! I changed the background on the computer, and I changed the screensaver to a marquee that reads: "Peace is love. Love is Peace.-John Lennon"

Our apartment smells like lotion and banana bread. Mmm.

I'm going to go light some incense.

Smile.
