(no subject)
Six days into our new home - the cats are adjusting, but still not loving sharing the space with each other. The boxes are slowly being unpacked - at least the kitchen's up and operational. Had Melissa, Chris & Richard over tonight as our first guests for quesadillas and Coronas. It was pretty fantastic.
Speaking of fantastic - Andrew got stuck at work for nearly 13 hours today. By the time he got off work, he was frustrated by the day and tired - so I heated up a new quesadilla, poured a glass of water for him and let him set the pace when he got home. He came to me for hugs and kisses and cuddles and was happy to see the Corona in the fridge. I asked if he wanted to watch anything and kept my mouth entirely shut other than to be supportive of whatever he wanted to watch. He decided on a cartoon series "Home Movies." I got through the first episode before retreating to the bedroom to sleep as soon as I finish this post.
My point to this - is that I had my fun when I got off work, and then nearly six hours later when he got off, I figured he needed his down time when he got home. I've got some things id like to talk to him about, but they can all wait til tomorrow. We all need our safe place at home to de stress after a bad work day... Myself included. This is just the beginning for us- there are going to be some really stressful days in the future - but I hope I can continue to know when to give time and kind favors to him instead of demanding attention or answers.
I'll admit I want to be the best girlfriend to him... :)
