Happy Holidays

Well chistmas is almost over so it makes sense that I finally have time to sit down and post on LJ.

First of all is a big thank you to selene2 who made me the gorgeous new banner and to alwaysjbj who made my LJ so pretty and new for me.  *squishes you both*

Speaking of pressies I managed to get some goodies.  alwaysjbj and temptation197 both gave me music gift vouchers which have already been invested in new music.  I so enjoyed our catch up lunch I have missed seeing you so much this year.  I recieved a variety of cat related knick knacks, books, DVD's and jigsaw puzzles. (My family knows me sooooo well).  My best friend Sam gave me some books and limited addition music items as well as tickets to see Iron Maiden.  Those tickets just about made me cry because I have been lamenting for months that I couldn't afford to go.

On the family front much has happened.  News and photos behind the link

My mum is slowly improving, her cancer has reduced in size and things are looking promising.  She is in Sydney visiting my grandmother and uncle for christmas and is looking to move to Caboolture when she gets back.  She'll be much closer to me then before, about 2hrs drive, and as an added bonus she will be in the same area as alwaysjbj

My daughter not only turned 21 this year but has also gotten engaged.  Some of the family are very so so about this because apparently if you're gay you don't get to celebrate the same relationship milestones. *sigh*  I love my daughters partner, she is so perfect for her and I am overjoyed to see my girl so happy.

My oldest boy finished his HSC this year, no more highschool for him.  He has enrolled at uni and will be started a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice in the new year.  Am very proud.  He turns 18 in March so is getting very grown up, another of my babies spreading his wings.  (woohoo)

Below are some photos from his formal.

Arriving at the formal

The boys

Fevzi, Loki, Beau, Kyle (my son) and Trent

The girls
Mel, Jamacia and Julia

And the group

Now all I have to do is get the youngest through the next two years of school and they are all done.

My cousin also got married a few months ago so I managed to get my three together for a photo, one of the perks of being the Bridesmaid, free family photo. lol

I spent the entire night wanting to at least brush the youngest's hair, but at least he washed it.
