Mean people suck

I have been helping twice a week at the Food Bank. Maybe that is overkill, but it seemed like they need someone who can keep a consistent semblance of order in the back room. One guy is steady, but a lot of people say he's angry and reactive. Funny, but I like the guy. He comes in, does his job, and doesn't raise sand. Today the Ice Queen asked

It always amazes me that people who volunteer expect that they can do whatever they want since they're unpaid. I understand that the organizations we volunteer for also need some semblance of order and need to be able to use their volunteer resources as/when/where needed. Then there are the interpersonal relations among the volunteers. Since it was different reasons that brought us each to a particular volunteer position, it figures that there will be the occasional conflicts as some volunteers stub their toes on other volunteers' reasons

Thanks for that. Actually, the things I tended to take were thrown away, and were destined for the compost. That matters not to the Powers That Be, since they are concerned only with appearances. However, it shows that yours truly is not fully recovered and has much work to do.

Actually they're from Seattle. The Winter Hymnal is the first song I heard from them several years ago. I kept meaning to buy it, and forgetting. When I went to buy that song for a Christmas playlist this year, I listened to some of the others and just knew you would like it so I had to get the whole album. Glad you're enjoying :)
