Hello, all. I am still sick. BLAH! It got worse over the past few days, which sucks because it makes it nearly impossible to work on anything! I had to get one and a half shifts covered over the past 2 days, which I hate doing. I feel like such a loser when I call to get shifts covered. (Thanks, Annie! I owe you a BIG one. Maybe a lovely dinner on me? Eh? Eh? Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.) Lemme just complain for a moment here...yesterday morning and early afternoon, I felt great, I thought I was on the up-and-up, getting better. Nope...an hour into my shift my right ear filled with fluid (eww!) and I became completely deaf on that side. Not ten minutes later, it began to hurt...like a mutherfucker! If I turned my head in any direction, the pressure from the fluid caused such intense and searing pain that I was nearly brough to tears. (I have a reasonably high threshold for pain, mind you.) I called Brandon (bless his darling heart) and he took the last half of my shift yesterday so I could go to the doctor. When I arrived at the doctor's office, my right ear was no only incapable of hearing, but it had begun to ring. (God that was annoying.) The doctor took one quick glance and said, "Yup, you have an ear infection." Now, ear infections are not unknown to me. I used to get them at least once every two weeks for the first 10 years of my life (I kid you not!), but they never caused me pain. The doctors would be amazed that I was not in pain from the intensity of my ear infections as a child. This one is way different. I haven't had an ear infection for about 8 to 10 years though, so maybe my body has changed in some way to where they actually suck now. Who knows. Anyway, the doctor gave me some antibiotics that are supposed to be pretty strong. The thing is that I have to eat regularly while on them (none of this no breakfast no lunch then a big dinner nonsense) or I'll get hypoglycemic. Yay! I haven't eaten regularly for a very long time, so this'll be fun. I managed to drag my lame ass out of bed to pack Corinne's room. My right ear is still partially deaf, but not as bad it was yesterday, thank god. I'm moving slow, though. Goodness, what timing, eh? Figures I'd get sick right when my health insurance is about to be reinstated (on May 1) and right when I have to move into a new house. Gah!! Frustrated! Somehow, I've managed to retain a light spirit through all of this...yes, I amaze even myself. ;)
Take care all! When I post again, I'll be in my new home. Yay! I want everyone to come and see it!
