I'm loving it

One thing I'm truly blessed with is family. I'm lucky to have such wonderful people around me. Aside from my immediate family, relatives here and abroad have made vacations, occasions and celebration worth remembering.

All my mom's relatives (on her mom side) have all migrated to the states. So the set up would always be, us visiting them on summer breaks. Most of them have been in the states for a decade or two and until recently have had no wish to set foot here. So it came as a welcome suprise when a bunch of them have been visiting since November. We had my Tita Cherry and Jeanine who went in November, Lola Ludy, Tito Tamblot and Kids, Charlene, ate Kakai, Ate Joan, Tita Ini and Ana, Tita Iya and kids in December, Uncle Marlon in DeCember, Jeff and Tita Susan in February and this month Tito Chu Chu, Tita Chi, Cheeky, Regine and Lola. This time last year, the latter group played host to me and my sister Mara as we spent 2 months bumming in Illinois and Milpitas. This time around with a newly made over house (had to add AC, they don't use the word airconditioning in the states, paint job, new furniture), we played host to this bunch of happy people.

So the past week, has been very busy and hectic. We have been bringing my fam back to their roots. From Jollibee, to Roxas Boulevard, to Greenhills and our gazillion malls, dirty Icecream, Nestle Ice cream parlor(formerly magnolia), laloma cemetery, I too have been feeling a sense of home haha. We went to the parlor, spa etc.

For holy week, my family went to Ilocos. We haven't been really supporting our local tourism as most breaks we go around Asia or the states or the usual Tagaytay, Subic Baguio. But now I appreciate the beauty of our native land. Ilocos is a nice town, though we had to drive 10 hours (the rest of my fam flew, while Kuya his gf and moi ahd to do drive after work), I saw such nice beaches, historic churches, sunsets and sunrise and Marcos. Fort Ilocandia is such a postcard like resort. So Tara Biyahe tayo!

Last Saturday, we went to the Easter Vigil Celebration of Ligaya in the ateneo Covered Courts. The three hour liturgy was in fairness beautiful. With all the songs and props. I finally listened and paid attention the whole time. The lesson of Easter as said in the homily comes from Harry Potter. Because we were loved so deeply, not in Valdemort or any evil being can kill us. That even if the people who love us are gone, we will be protected forever. I will try to get that line and post it. It's beautiful.

I wish I too were on summer break or have the whole week of so I can tour my fam around even more.

Lazy Monday!! 8 hours to go!!
