ho hum
one of my poveda batch mates died Sunday morning. when i got the text, i was so shocked. When you'e 22 you don't real think of dying. you make so many plans, have so many dreams, places to go to, things to do. in a way life is just beginning, you still are figuring out the path to choose, so much promises and surprises yet to be discovered. going to the wake (any wake for that matter), makes you think of the people you love, your own mortality. i truly cannot comprehend death, the emotions that go with it, the waking up tomorrow feeling empty. but i guess death is inevitable, you have to face it. you can drive as safely as you want, wear seat belts, go 40 kph but chances are there might be some drunk driver out there who might go crazy with his 10 wheeler truck. sigh i guess we just shouldn't tempt fate.
on a brighter note, because my back hurt so much in the weekend, i stayed home and finally finished Lovers in Paris. yeah to some it might be Jologs, but i found it really nice. i got my mom hooked on it! The korean girl was such a good actress. the boys were not so cute and i am kinda duling from reading the subtitles, but over all the story was great. i find myself humming the song sometimes (not the one of kitchie nadal, the korean song). too bad my bet Sooh Yu, didn't get Tae-young.
Things to look forward to:
my uncle from milpitas is here on vacation. after 20 years of being in the states, he's back. i'm not sure he appreciates the smog, the traffic (he's dismayed at the no following of lanes and how close cars can get to one another)but he's happy, golfing. he brought us krispy kreme!! we're gonna bring him around together with some cousins who are coming later this march. yehesss bring on the balikbayan boxes.
my brothers are also in the finals of their ABL division! three cheers for them. watch me scream loud and proud.
