So good week at home.
I worked my first full-time work week since Christmas break. It was a bit depressing getting up with the sun and getting home when it was setting, but I know that this summer of humping it as an office bitch is worth it to have money in New York this fall. The city is not much fun broke! The guy I share my office with is wayy cool. He's 36 but sucha kid in some ways. He's lived in New York and San Fran and is very cultured and metro in all the cool ways. ;) He has great taste in music, so we rocked it out all week at our desks to The Killers, Placebo, Franz Ferdinand and Fall Out Boy.
I've talked a lot with Nat, which has been productive. He's coming to visit NoVA in eight days! I mean - lots has fallen through before, but I really feel like he's gonna come through on this and we'll have a good visit. I'm happy to be able to show him my hometown and stuff. I honestly didn't think he'd really notice I was gone this summer. But apparently that's not the case.
I hung out with Adam tonight, which was cool. We caught up after not really hanging out in person for like uhhh....three years?! haha It's funny how you can know what's going on with someone because of their away messages for years, and think you still know them. He's stoked about moving to the city to start work in August and I'm excited for him. It really is cool to move to New York. You suddenly feel immersed in the real world. He'll do fine. The city is def for people with personalities like his.
All in all, I'm good. I am making money again, spending time with my family, FINALLY finishing unpacking from school, seeing old friends and planning to come back to the city soon to see some newer ones. It's getting warmer and sunnier in VA and life is just good all around. A lil boring in the burbs, but then again - it's also less expensive and less stressful, so it all balances out. Cheers to summer! (And to still being a child with little responsibility.)
