Spontaneity at its finest

Olivia and I just got back from Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast of Australia. Going there was probably one of the most impulsive and spontaneous things I've ever done. Olivia came over Wednesday afternoon and we were cold sitting around my house. Sydney is going through this switchover to Autumn that has been characterized by sudden torrential downpours followed by persistent greys and drizzle. So we decided that we'd rather be somewhere warm. Cold and rain is NOT why we came to Australia. So voila. Three hours later, we had plane tix and hostel reservations to go to Surfers Paradise twelve hours later! I LOVED IT. Especially the cirumstances under which the tix were bought. I love Liv and I'm so glad we went on this trip together.

I've decided that I love little kids. (shocker) Everywhere I go, I can't help smiling at them just to see if they respond. They are such cool little creatures. When we were at the beach I saw these girls and just cracked up. They looked just like Amanda and I strolling down the beach in Barbados when we lived there. Two tan sisters in bikinis, one about 5 and one about 2, the oldest one tall and lanky, and the baby short and pudgy with a round little bum. (Guess who that was...!) Olivia said I was a stalker, but I had to shoot a couple pics of these girls!

I think it's a sad world we're in though, when a mother snatches up her baby because he's laughing at me in the grocery store while I wave to him. I guess parents have to be that way now. I probably will be too I'd guess. Quick - someone I know, hava baby so I can play with it! Be spontaneous!
