Thought I'd never get back to posting these.
It's time to visit the O'Mackeys again. Last time, Gabe proposed to Patricia (and she said yes!) and Jules found a new boyfriend in David Ottomas.
They're both pretty content with life at the moment.
Jules spends most of her free time with David these days.
She can't completely forget about Patricia, though... She's really not looking forward to having her as a stepmother. At least she's got David to share her woes with.
Gabe's inviting his fiancée and his family over for dinner, but his cooking skills are a bit... lacking.
Jules attends only because she was allowed to invite David.
Even after all this time, Gabe still forgets that Rose doesn't actually eat.
Right now, Jules wishes she didn't need to eat, either.
The dinner's still not a total disaster. With David's company, even Jules manages to have a relatively okay time.
Gabe drops subtle hints to Patricia about her and Jules, hoping they'll make friends...
Patricia doesn't seem so sure about this idea.
Jules and David retreat to her room for some private time...
Jules receives a promotion and attains status as an Overachiever. Gabe couldn't be prouder! Now she can do her after school writing jobs from home.
Gabe has a little talk with Jules. It's time to start preparing for college. With her grades and skills, it shouldn't be too difficult to pick up a few scholarships.
They make a deal to study together in the evenings, her for college and him for a new promotion. Gabe's determined to become headmaster of the local school.
But the next morning...
Leave it up to Gabe to spoil a perfectly good breakfast by bringing up Patricia again.
He leaves for work, worried that his daughter and future wife never will manage to get along.
Jules does the gardening, like her mother used to... It makes her miss Alexandra and feel close to her at the same time.
It doesn't make things better that her father seems to insist on bringing Patricia over every single night.
Funny, though... Patricia doesn't really seem to enjoy the company of Gabe's friends too much.
Jules stays in her own room, with her own friends. In addition to David, she's got her ex-boyfriend Jacob over (the two of them have remained friends, and get along even better after Jules found David), and her "cousin" Daisy, who has had a birthday and is now all grown up.
Jules finds it so odd and yet fascinating that plantsims have such a short childhood, and such an abrupt entry into adulthood. Daisy's not quite like any other grown-up Jules knows, either, so naïve and inexperienced and yet so strangely mature at the same time, and so serious and calm. One day, Jules plans to write a book about Daisy, and maybe later still she can do a study on plantsims. Not much is known about them among regular sims, mostly just myths.
Meanwhile. Gabe continues to worry about things. Patricia has been so oddly distant lately...
He supposes it's just the conflict with Jules, but it seems to be more than that... He chooses to shrug it off. Just cold feet before the wedding, surely. Nothing to worry about. Nothing at all.
