The beautiful Moon Islands...
Home of fearsome pirate Alexandra Teatherton. It's her secret refuge, and hers alone.
But what's this? Behind the rocks on the opposite shore, there's a small clearing in the thick jungle...
Trisha surveys the small pond, trying to calculate how much fish there might be in there, and wondering if she can find the material to make a fishing pole.
She has put up with a lot. Forgiven a lot. But this... Of all the stupid things Trent has ever done, this takes the cake.
"I'm sure one of the cruise ships will come past soon, daddy!" Tina says cheerfully. She has inherited her father's optimism. "Then we'll be okay!"
"I... I don't think any ships come this way, Tina dear," Trent replies.
"But then you can fix our plane, right? Right, daddy?"
"I, um... It's pretty much beyond repair, sweetheart."
Tina's face falls. "You mean we're stuck here?"
Trent looks uncomfortable. "I wouldn't think of it as 'stuck', exactly. More like... an opportunity. Yes, an opportunity for an extended study of the area! We can learn about the people who made these paths, maybe we'll find the ruins of an extinct civilization! We'll-"
"Oh, shut up, Trent," Trisha says, as she ties a piece of string to a bamboo rod she's found, preparing to attempt catching them some dinner. It's going to be a long night. And a long, long vacation.
