Inspired by
pennysims' Liberty City, and other great builders as well, my SO and I decided to start a new city project of our own.
Welcome to Oaketown, a still very small town, if it can even be called that. We aren't really playing by any definite rules, other than that everything created in this city will be our own. Our own houses, community lots, and sims. Even the neighbourhood terrain was created by us in Sim City 4.
For the sims, we try to give each one their own personality and a little bio. I find it hard to make interesting sims on my own, so that's definitely a challenge. We also try to play by their wants, as far as possible.
So far, the town consists of eight tiny houses on 1x1 lots (4 one story houses, 4 two story houses) and two 2x1 community lots (only one is shown in the picture, the other wasn't built yet).
Trying my hand at neighbourhood decorations.
The very first inhabitant of Oaketown: Alison Drake. She is an outgoing Popularity/Fortune sim and has the LTW to become the Mayor. Fitting, eh? In her spare time she likes to make new friends and tend her tiny garden. She loves plants.
Alison's house.
The local minimarket.
What do you know, an opening in the Politics career! What luck.
Ah, yes, every town needs an Unsavory Charlatan.
A couple of shots from inside Alison's house.
If anyone should be worried about it, we haven't given up on the Uberhood or anything. We're playing both. They're very, very different 'hoods to play.
