Build a City Challenge - February 09 (Part 1)
On request from pennysims, we're posting some of our pictures from our BACC... I say "some", because there was over 2000 pictures in that folder, and even with just flitering out the best there's still a lot. :p
These are from the beginning, so there's not so much a "city" yet... more like a big plain open landscape with a single house in it.
'Hood is called 'Simtopia City'. ...We're not terribly creative with neighbourhood names.
Founder Dominia Jones and her husband-to-be, Lee, proposing to her. Dominia is a clone from the fourth generation heir of an alphabet legacy that we got bored with. Naming theme is characters from video games. The original founder was Aeris (FFVII), 2nd gen Beatrix (FFIX), 3rd gen Citan (Xenogears) and Dominia is also from Xenogears. Yes, we're terrible terrible nerds and we met on a Final Fantasy message board.
We're following the name theme here, but not with the spouses anymore. She got to pick who she liked best, which happened to be elf-eared Lee here.
The house. Looks kinda lonely.
First child, Edgar (FFVI).
The cuddle in bed interaction from AL is one of the cutest things ever.
Toddler Edgar... (yay elf-ears!)
...and child Edgar, with his violin. This violin will be passed down to his children in the future. You'll see a lot of it.

Second child and "heiress" to the Jones family, Elhaym (again, Xenogears).
Following legacy tradition, Lee makes a portrait of our founder.
Oh, yeah, none of them have jobs, I don't think we had anything unlocked at this point. They got money by digging up the yard, and eventually opened a grocery store community business.

Edgar flirts with Cecilia Swanson. Little does he know that she'll one day be his daughter-in-law. Ah, to be an immortal townie...
Lee has a little accident while tending to the vegetables for the grocery store.
A picture from the grocery store, and some of our townies. Mr. Logan Walker in front there and the bandana-dude in the background - super-cool Ira McCormick (or.. something), are still townies at the moment. The two others have been absorbed into the playable world.

Elhaym and her boyfriend Stewart... I forgot both Stu and Lee's original last names, it's been a long time since they became Joneses.

Edgar's teen-to-adult birthday party. Dominia seems to be incredibly pissed off at Nichole for some reason.
Nichole and Edgar have moved onto the neighbouring lot. Nichole proposes. Screw gender roles, he's gonna take her last name too.

Wedding party. Elly and Stu are being cute and autonomously dancing together.

...and his twin sister, Gina.
Grimmie comes for Dominia. :( I didn't realise how quickly we played through this first generation until looking at the picture dates again - all of this, up until Dominia's death, happened within four real life days!
Elhaym grows into an adult - and the best outfit ever.

Fast-forward to Stewart and Elhaym's wedding...
...which had a bit of a sad ending.
Oh hai, who's this? Why, it's the Ramaswamis, getting some hot ACR action! She's already pregnant here, I think.
...and then THIS happened. Priya seemingly experienced some spontaneous combustion.
Luckily, Sanjay was able to save her.
Right afterwards, she had her babies. More twins - Mohinder and Shanti. That was not the end of the fire drama, though... but more on that later.
Final picture for now - Elhaym's first baby, Freya (FFIX! - we've got such a wide varity of games to pick from!).
