Burned out? Aging hacks? Advice?

Meh... I'm struggling to figure out what, exactly, I want to do with my game at the moment. I don't really feel like playing RBH (I'm like 6 months behind on updating it here, anyway), and I've started fiddling around with organizing my downloads again, because I have some sort of Sims OCD... and ADHD ( Read more... )

I altered an age hack to add 7 days to adulthood, since I was planning to do some type of community/base hood college; not sure if that's long enough yet. And I think having college being somewhat expensive will help to let some sims go and some who can't.

I'd like to have some sort of system for deciding who gets to go to college, but then I'd be back at micromanaging again. :P But it is a nice idea.

Maybe you could base it on aspiration and personality... like Knowledge/Fortune Sims are more likely to go, and lazy Romance/Popularity Sims are less likely to go.

Yeah... or on whether or not they have the want for it at a certain time (which probably would favour Knowledge and Fortune sims), and/or how much money their family has?

I just flip a coin to decide who stays home or goes to college. Since I play an uberhood, I divide them all up by age, trying not to have more than five controllable Sims in each dorm (otherwise, I'd lose my mind). Then I roll a three side (online) to see which school they'll head to then group them together and throw them into a dorm.

I have considered only playing one Sim in each dorm and letting the other four go free range and fail/die at will. This would make the Influence power far more useful. And, I can only imagine the hilarity and horror of going this route.

I have CJs shorter teen age span hack and love it!

I play up to eight sims in a dorm and would've probably done more if I'd had a 'moar sims on lot' variety hack when I built my dorms. :P College with only one or two sims is boring! But yeah, more than 5-6 can get kinda chaotic. I like chaotic. ;)

Uh oh, free range sims. I think there'd be a lot of failing college that way... especially those with missing skill points. But it would probably be quite funny, yes. ;)
