I met a woman at work today who reminded me a great deal of this grandmother that I met in Niamey. Both women are absolute pistols with so much spunk and heart, and do not speak a word of French or English. It's amazing how much one can communicate with hand gestures, smiles, and embraces, though.

If I had a grandson that cute and handsome, I would be proudly showing him off too.

After putting in some decent hours at the IRC office, I met Lauren, a friend from high school, to go inner tubing out on the Gunpowder River. Everything was comfortably familiar and like old times. We shared lots of laughs and caught up on each others' lives. But half way through our route, with about an hour before we would arrive at the stopping point, Lauren began to get a killer migrane. And mentioned that she neglected to tell me that she was in the hospital on Wednesday for the same problem. The poor, poor girl... I tried my best to hurry up the process and get her home as soon as possible, but I don't know anything about migraines and was so worried about accidentally making it worse. I know that bright light, sound, and motion can worsen the pain considerably...I'm googling migraines right now so that I can help more next time (if there is a next time). She's in the hospital now. Tomorrow, flowers and chocolate will be delivered, naturally :)

Drew and I sprawled out in the middle of his field to stargaze tonight. If you're still up, take a moment to take a look outside because the clarity is amazing. Drew taught me how to spot satellites in the sky and I think I saw a shooting star. But if I tell you what I wished for, it won't come true...
