Casablanca

Our group had a 24 hour lay-over in Casablanca, and we tried to use it to the fullest.

We walked everywhere, which seems to be the best way to travel through a foreign city. You miss so much more when you take public transportation. Eventually, we spotted the top of a turquoise embellished mosque poking out from behind palm trees and buildings. We made our way toward the mosque by the sea, and spent hours at the plaza mingling with locals and weaving through the architectural wonders.

The top of the mosque. This mosque is famous because it is closer to the sea than any other.

A woman who I tried not to disturb with my camera. She was quietly watching her children from a distance.

These girls, who we affectionately call "mes amis," were absolutely breathtaking. They were very giddy pre-teens, constantly giggling and laughing. I think they really enjoyed the photo opp. All of the locals were so friendly toward us, and the children found us to be very curious and entertaining.
