I have swimmers ear... that is the last thing I remember hearing... when I died. There were a lot of things in my mind at the time though, the last one I remember thinking.... "I am gonna live!" Cut to me. Dead. Sliced by a bringer. Not really blaming anyone there but Xander, and only blaming him because as soon as I thought it.. it jinxed me, and usually that was something that Xander did. He would say it would be all okay and well.. things would go horribly wrong. So things were good, then I was dead. It was the Xander Affect. I usually laughed at that joke too, but this.. wasn't a laughing matter anymore. I was dead. Cut to me... floating in some sort of ethereal glowey mess.
Call me confused, but I wasn't sure that I was in the right place. I had been dealing vengeance on the side of evil for over a thousand years.. so Heaven wasn't really on my list of final destinations. However in the time that I spent as a human I had begun to develop these feelings... these emotions that made me want to stay behind and fight with them. Even die with them it ended up being... of course I really hadn't planned on that last part. Remember? I said the last thing in my mind was that I was going to survive. So I was a bit more than surprised to be welcomed into the pearly gates.
Of course they weren't so much pearly gates as it was a rather large door. I walked in and was greeted. The whole this is your life Aud was pretty neat. I got to see some of the things I was less proud of, but apparantly the good out weighed the bad, and being a fighter against evil in some huge Apocolyptic battle? Did a lot more than good kharma.
So that was about a month or so ago, the big meet and greet in the sky. Now I was pretty happy, content spending my days poolside with Lance and Rico... massages... grapes... cabana boys, well you get my drift. It was pretty accomodating for a heavenly place. That was when it all came crashing down.. again.
I had just finished a margarita and was waiting for Ian to return with another when it got wavy. I mean the sky did this ripple wavy thing. I thought it was a bit odd, but then again I was pretty relaxed with Rico's fingers kneading the knots out of my back.. it could have been the light-headedness.
Then it happened again.. and bigger.. and sort of loud too. With a clanky-klunky piano sound.. or maybe a pan flute?? I mean the last time I heard that was.....
Then it was gone. All of it. The pool, the margarita... the cabana boys.. Rico's fingers... Lance's toned tanned abs... gone.
It was a white room.
It went on forever... and I could still hear the echo of the last note...
"ANDREW!!!!!"
