Michelle, I love you, first of all. On Saturday morning while I was eating in the dining hall, I tried really hard to pick you out of the giant mob of frisbee players on the field, but I don't think I did very well.
Now the other part: college changes you. It's okay. No one expects you to be the same person you were in high school. Actually, I'd kind of be freaked out if you were the same person you were in high school. Even though this isn't what you wanted to hear, you really do have to do what makes you feel happy. Your friends love you and, because they love you, they will respect you for doing what you want to do.
There is nothing wrong with drinking. There is nothing wrong with making out with a guy you've just met (or even one you haven't met...). There's nothing wrong with being silly and crazy and happy. As long as you are cool with the consequences (hangovers, the realization that you may never talk to these boys again, etc.) go with it.
Really try to figure out why you think your high school self would be disappointed with your college self. A lot of people have self-imposed barriers (don't drink or have sex until a certain age, don't kiss until a certain date, whatever) that, as they go out and experience life, they find don't really work for them. Don't set impossible standards for yourself that keep you from being happy.
I know I'm certainly not disappointed in you. And I echo Claire; keep posting! It's exciting to hear about your life.
