So I was all set, and hyped up for, Relay for Life. Then my aunt Marianne called saying my Aunt Kathryn, who has a brain tumor, was on Lopez until Saturday night, so then I was torn: Relay for Life or spending time with Kathryn. I decided Kathryn was more important this year so I went up and spent some time with her while she had the energy but also threw the frisbee with her son David for several hours.
We got the ferry back and right out side of Anacortes at like 9:45 our car broke down. So we called AAA and it took them 1.5 hours to send a tow truck. For somme reason they kept thinking we were in coupeville, which we definitely weren't anywhere near. So then we called Kathryn and David and Ken because they had two seats in their car and the tow truck could only take two people....so we squeezed in. So I miss relay, but spending time with Kathryn ws worth it....and leaning against her in the car with her arms around me I felt really safe and like nothing bad was happening to her. (Update: I guess the gates were open at relay, but I couldn't get in touch with anyone, so sorry I never showed up.)
I really hope she gets better...she's been looking really good and she always has a smile on her face even when she's having major trouble getting up the stairs.
Hope everyone had fun at Relay
