this weekend up til tonight
So this weekend was amazing. The debate team had a tournament in Washington D.C. Aprile went with me as my partner so I could actually do something other than coach our two new freshmen teams. We definitly won the tournament. As in like, me and Aprile or Aprile and I whichever it is, got first place. I won 2nd speaker award too. That's officially the best I've ever done in a tournament because usually my speaker points aren't that high. We spent most of the day Sunday hanging out in Washington. We saw the Lincoln Memorial, ate hot dogs from the dudes with the carts on the street, saw the national aquarium which by the way sucks. The one in Newport is so much better. We were on our way to the zoo when we stopped to ask for directions. We ended up not going to the zoo and staying at the place we asked for directions. We definitly spent an hour talking to this guy in the Founding Church of Scientology. Talk about some interesting stuff. I was intrigued.
So anyway, I've been asleep pretty much ever since I got back because I was drained. But I was working over at the debate office today, filing some stuff and going through pictures from the trip, when my belly ring kinda got caught on my sweater. So I looked a bit closer at it and realized that my piercing has moved and is nowhere near where it was when I first got it done. For those who don't know, Darby took me to Knoxville for my 20th birthday and I got it done as a present. The bar was so close to the surface of my skin I could see the metal through the little flap of skin that goes around it. Needless to say, it's set to get ripped out at any near time. So I had to take it out. Which means it will heal over in the next couple of days and I'll have to wait a couple months and go get it pierced again. There goes another 50 bucks. I'm so pissed. It never got infected or anything, it just gradually moved itself towards the surface of my skin. So my belly button is no longer pierced. It makes me sad.
