Whew, been a while
In fact, it's been five months and a day since I posted anything, and even longer since I posted anything of substance.
So, update on my life....
I got a job back in March through a friend, working at a fairly crappy childcare centre. The individual staff were fine, but it was a 'for profit' chain of centres, so their focus was not on the children, or their staff, so they pissed me off by shunting me around a bit with very little notice, or respect for my time.
I worked for them, being all flexible dispite them being pretty crap until I took two days off sick and they fired me.
Fortunatly, the day after they fired me, I already had a job interview lined up at a centre called Mia-Mia which is actually on of the best centres there is. We took a tour of the centre when I was studying, and watched their videos, because they're that good.
Being straight out of TAFE, I didn't really think I had much chance of getting the job, but I had some fantastic friends helping me with my resume and my interview technique, and so I got the job.
Anyway, I've been there about 4 months now, and I LOVE it SOOO Much!!!!
There are three rooms, 0-2, 2-3 and 3-5. The staff in those rooms get a rostered day off every three weeks, so I cover those, so I get a chance to be in all the rooms and work with all the staff and all the children.
Mia-Mia is on Macquarie Uni campus, so I'm close to Tony (we can car pool) and to a lot of my friends who also work at the uni. It's the 'Child and Family Study Centre' attached to the Division of Early Childhood, so it's well funded, all the money it makes goes back into the centre, rather than making a 'profit'.
I just can't say enough how beautiful it is, or how much I love it.
Um...in other news in my life....Charlotte is ten months old now, and entirely lovely. I love getting home in the evenings so I can cuddle her.
Not much else going on with me....
Ironclaw is between Alpha and Beta, so it's down for a few months, and I'm not getting my fix....
