I wasn't teary-eyed until I watched his acceptance speech and saw the emotion in the crowd. I'm beginning to feel like significant portions of my own country feel the same way that I do, and this is the first time since I have become eligible to vote.
Also, look at these numbers:
Minority groups:
Black: 95% Obama, 4% McCain
Hispanic: 66%, 31%
Asian: 62%, 35%
Young voters:
First Time Voters: 69% Obama, 30% McCain
18-29 year olds: 66% Obama, 31% McCain

Of course I am not an expert on these matters, but I would think that seeing how these groups voted would be:
1. Not too much of a surprise
2. A glimpse at our future.
Most of all, I am relieved.
