Its been a hectic life lately...
first off, puja came home last thursday night, which was a nice surprise. she was only going to be home for a day, so we just hung out on the sofa when she arrived at nighttime. but then also... sophie died that night. she died in her sleep, laying next to the sofa in her bed. i imagine her listening to our voices, knowing that both of her puppies (me and puja) were home for the night. it was kinda surreal, to the point of the three of us trying to wake her up because it still looked like she was breathing even though i put my head to her chest to hear for her heart beat. we took her to the vet's for the night and said our final goodbyes. i can't stop seeing her in small puppies romping around the neighborhood. even if the puppy is a golden retreiver. (sophie was a black schnauzer/spaniel mix)
friday was geoff's birthday, for which i baked key lime cake which he says he liked. my mom sang happy birthday to him TWICE! (geoff, i'm so sorry. bad singing must be genetic, and well, she is my mom so i bet i got that part from her.)
saturday was this comedy show that my mom and i helped organize as a fundraiser for ASHA, a dc nonprofit that my mom is on the board for. geoff and heather got ransomed into helping out and all-in-all it was a success. i'm curious to find out how much money was made that night, because really we worked our butts off.
monday my grandma went to the hospital in preparation for surgery which occured on tuesday. she had a renal artery blockage on her one remaining kidney, so we were all very worried. fortunately, her surgeon only spent 20 minutes on the procedure, and she came home last night. she's staying with my mom and i so that we can take care of her while she recovers. so far, she's recovering very well (knock on wood)
between the hospital, work and home, i've been exhasted lately... i need to buy a book. any suggestions?
