It's been 13 years now, of chronic pain, though the pain has changed in nature over time, and I didn't know what it was when it first happened. That first week, I thought it was an allergic attack and then possibly trigeminal neuralgia (and for all I know it is trigeminal neuralgia).
Now I've got peripheral neuropathy, and I've lost feeling in my feet & hands to a certain extent (though that's gotten replaced with pain, so they're numb & in pain. Yay.) I can use my hands and feet -- I haven't become weak, etc. So it's not MS or anything like that. It doesn't seem to make much difference if I walk or not. But it does get to be a bit difficult to use my hands and feet sometimes. During the week, I power through, wear compression socks, use a TENS unit (I know it's for muscles not nerves, but making one's muscles twitch via the power of electricity does make one ignore other pains a bit), and try to chill. But on the weekends, I just get my stuff done by 10am, and I'm sitting on the couch w/ Stu.
We're watching Godzilla movies (All Monsters Attack!) in Japanese now... and I really like whoever translated for the subtitles. They did a good job.
It's not a good day. I really hate the summer, bc the big pressure changes make my pain worse throughout my body, but especially my head & face, which has been my pain since the beginning in 2010.
