Birthday #27 was grand...
It all began on Saturday night when my favorite people and I went to Beni Hana's for dinner. Great food and awesome times. I love my family, both surrogate and real!
George and I did not do any gift giving for either of our birthdays this year because we are saving that for Christmas. However, he still made it a special day. On Sunday, we went to Subway, put our food in a cooler, and headed out to Kensington. The colors were beautiful and we went hiking on the trails. It was so nice and pretty. After our hike we sat at a picnic table on one of the lakes and watched mysterious mammals swim around. We think they were muskrats, but totally are not sure. Afterward, we stopped at one of our favorite stores, Ikea to which a whole new can of worms was opened. We found the
"perfect bed". The headboard is about one foot deep, and small bookshelves roll out on either side. It's wonderful! Of course we had to return to Ikea on two separate occassions the following day to further examine our potential purchase. On the second occassion, we finally purchased it. George and his brother are currently assembling all the parts.
Working at HFCC is going great. I really like it. I've had to teach several library instruction classes, which can get me nervous, but I'm starting to get used to it. The last one I taught, the instructor stuck around and told me that I had just given the best library instruction she's ever seen, and that she wants to request me from now on! This made me feel more confident. She liked that I didn't get too detailed to where students became lost and overwhelmed. I probably do that because I'm still new to it all, too! It's nice to know I'm doing a decent job though.
I am so unmotivated to keep up on this LJ. Entries may start getting fewer and more far-between.
