I installed Moblin 2.0 on my Dell mini 9 netbook, basically because
this intro was so well done. Getting wireless running was a pain, but the instructions at
http://slaine.org/_slaine/Dell_Mini_9.html were successful. The interface is pretty slick, but a few things are broken or annoying. First, placing the dropdown menu at the top of the screen means that it pops up almost everytime you try and close a window, which is really annoying. The builtin IM function doesn't seem to work at all. The integrated Internet browser of choice is chrome, which in my experience works pretty well on Windows but seems to be very buggy and incompatible (in this release anyway), and in particular I couldn't use meebo.com to get on IM given that the integrated function was broken.
Numerous other bugs make the distribution largely unusable at the moment, and once something goes down there's no obvious way to reset the interface without a hard reboot. So anyway, it might have some potential, but at the moment I can't recommend trying it even just for fun.
