I just finished reading the book for the fourth time. I love that book. It's awesome.
In any case... it was only during this reading that I figured out who Shadow is. Yes, I had a clue from one of Gaiman's other short-stories, but I actually caught the clues that are in "American Gods" that point out his identity in the context of the story.
