Apparently I am allergic to sulfa drugs and if I take them I break out in a shit ton of hives all over my body causing me to look like I have the plague. Tuesday after I went to the Wellness Center the woman gave me a Claritin, told me to take some Benadryl and I would be better. Mind you, this was when I only had the hives on my scalp and a few some other places on my body. Wednesday morning I wake up and the hives have spread like wildfire and have gotten ridiculously large. That's when I decide to go back to the Wellness Center and tell them that Benadryl is just not going to cut it. That's also when they realized I was probably allergic to sulfa drugs. So now I'm on this fabulous steroid that is making my hives go away and making me look like a normal human being. All of which adds up to something that makes me really happy.
It's just so crazy that stuff like this always happens to me right around or during finals week of the fall semester. Two years ago I get a facial infection and am hospitalized for 3 days. Last year, while in Rome, I had another facial infection and have to go to an International Hospital to see an American doctor (he was real shiesty). This year for the first time ever in my life I have an allergic reaction. Great googly moogly. My Mom says I'm starting to remind her of my Dad since apparently for like 7 or 8 years after he was injured in the war he would have an accident on or around the anniversary date of when he was injured. She said it became an expectation for them that he would hurt himself. Glad to know I can carry on such a fabulous tradition.
Alright, well one more paper to go and then I'm done. Thank the Lord!!
