I realize that it's nearly impossible for people nowa-days to get 'unplugged', 'disconnected' or turned off. Everywhere you look people are plugged into something, MP3's, Phones, Computers, TV, Games. It's starting to piss me off because people don't know their limitations. People are becoming more interested in their online friends than their real friends, and those that ARE still connected to their real friends are too busy texting their other friends whilst in the middle of a hang out.

A girl at my school told me that a friend of hers that she hadn't seen for months asked her to hang out, they did. Afterwards the girl from school told me that the whole time, her friend was texting her other friends, not paying any attention to the one she hadn't seen for so long, that was right in front of her. It seems that now, even if you are sitting next to someone, you can't talk to them unless they are texting you.

AS FOR online friends, it's cool to have online pals and all, but when you begin neglecting your actual friends THAT is when it becomes an issue. because for the most part, your online friends are just there to make you feel popular, do you REALLY even feel connections towards half of them? I know there are some cases where people are really attached to their online friends, but I'm talking about the ones that you have that you just talk to for the sake of talking to them. I think why people like online friends so much, is that if they piss you off, you can block them, or just stay logged off for a few days, or ignore them, people are forgetting how to deal with real situations and real people because they are too disconnected from the real world, and too plugged into a pseudo-reality that can make them feel better, well I'll tell you one thing, that is NOT life, that is FAKE. Go outside see your friends, get a life, a REAL one.

Even when I'm washing peoples hair at hair school, they are answering their phones, or texting. CHRIST.
