Here come the day pictures. It is a bit cloudy though (like usual). There are a lot of them ;P and some videos...
I took the cover off the old "terrarium" and it fits almost perfectly in the new one.
It is very close to Iris' favourite spot, so it is good to have it covered, since she loves to put her paw into any container with water and then lick it. She also takes a bite off house plants now and then. In any case the terrarium should be closed to mantain the humidity. There is just a narrow slit that is uncovered now:
I might have to put some plastic to extend it or so. Also in case the snails feel like escaping now. They didn't like to climb the plastic walls of the old terrarium, but they seem to be liking climbing on glass. This cover is good though, since it is so very light, better than a glass I think, which can shatter.
A few shots of the mini orchid:
I discovered three snails in the new terrarium today.
One of them was laying eggs already...
They must have been hiding in the moss, even though I inspected it very carefully... They are now in the little container with the rest. There may be more though, and there are certainly more in the old "terrarium", today I picked up five or six more that were munching lettuce. Including the tiniest I have ever spotted:
Here next to a "big" one, of about 6mm.
This is the... at the moment lady, I guess, that was laying several eggs:
They reproduce so fast, perhaps I should take a bunch of them and release them in the forest. Or perhaps I should stop feeding them lettuce, the population has exploded since.
This is a picture of the mini fogger, as requested by
beslap:
The goldenish thing is a ceramic membrane that produces the ultrasound.
And the timer.
A few shots of the fogger in action:
With flash.
And also some videos:
951, 935 and 650 KB
The aquatic plants I got are, according to the pots, "Echinodorus species" and "Bacopa amplexicaulis". The terrarium is next to the window, so I hope that is enough light.
I left that side of the container uncovered with substrate to be able to see the aquatic plants.
This is the side.
And the other side.
One of the shorter sides.
And the other.
Interior.
Shots of the "snail farm":
And of some of the glass and plants I got yesterday:
And quite off topic :P Iris licking me and licking herself while I was taking these pictures:
One last picture of the terrarium:
