Hope you guys had a nice weekend! Karen and I sure did. :)
I don't even remember what was going on Sat, I think just packing and hanging out. Then Sunday we went to the Phoenix Zoo to use up a couple of free passes. The timing was excellent too, it's cooled off a bit and was just starting to heat up again! Nice breeze, good exercise. :) Got a few nice pics and vids out of it too!
Toitles! So cute, there was a bunch of them hanging out under the bridge as you come in.

Zebras are awesome, they look so unreal. Like a painting. <3

The Flamingos were so kyoot! I had to get footage of them, they're just too fun to watch.
These guys were SO not shy. They reminded us of our bunnies, actually. "Food?? You don't have food. Meh." Cuteness!
Baboons were not being cooperative with the camera. So here is the back of a baboon's head. :P

People were meltering at the Fennic Foxes. So cute! They had a block of ice hanging for them to lick and cool off, as well as some cat toys I wish I'd caught em playing with. It was so cute.
These lovely ladies were napping together. They're retired breeders, from what the sign said, and have always been together and the best of friends. <3 Notch and One-Ear, I think their names were or something along those lines.
The tiger was also hard to get good shots of! He was on the prowl, lots of moving around. I love how the second shot came out though. <3 Very handsome!
Saguaro with crutches. :( Poor things. Kinda sucks the majestic right out of em, but they're not the most stable of plants.

These boys were so gorgeous! I have a soft spot for goats, although technically I think these guys are bighorn sheep. So adorable! The eyes, the tapering muzzle, the big ol horns... <3
Lion Porn!
These two lions (can't remember their names, d'oh!) were rescues from an illegal exotic pet raid. They'd been kept together in a pen barely bigger than they were, poor things. Now they're pampered and taken care of at the Phoenix Zoo. I was amused to note that there was a big ol cardboard box in there... cats will be cats! And all cats love a cardboard box. The male was SUPER relaxed as you can see above, while the lioness was all dignity on top of the rock there. Happy Kitties. I almost didn't see her, Karen pointed her out!
Not a great shot of the griffin vulture, but they're too cool to not include.
The whole mini savanna! I wish I'd gotten vid of the giraffes walking around, but they were still whenever I had it ready and the batteries were running low. :P
Ostridge!
Now HERE'S some horns!
I don't know what this guy is, but he is awesome. Up close he looks like a muppet! One of the few bird pics that really came out. Most of them, the enclosures got auto-focused and such and you can't really see em.

Not sure if these birds are doing a courtship thing or doing a "Ur In Mah Terratory!" thing. I'm guessing the latter.
Shoulda used vid on the monkeys! Fast little boogers!
Obligatory maned wolf! <3 She was nappin in the tall grass.
We didn't see a lot of herps, but here's a rhino iguana who was chilling on the way out! It was getting near to closing time, and we were pretty tuckered out by then.
Then Sunday we went over and pestered an Amarin. ^_^ All in all, very nice weekend!
