I am pmsed and can't sleep. Apparently, it makes Cleo nervous when I try to sleep so she yowls till I come back into the livingroom. I'm going to look into this and see if it helps

1. Males are competitive creatures by nature, even when not actually in competition. During such times, when the nature of the competition is ill-defined, the factor being competed over defaults to which of the males present is the 'most male'. Thus, that which is female ('female' here being that which is the least 'male' possible, due to the fact that most people cannot manage to deviate from a two-gendered system and thus cannot envision anything becoming less male without becoming more female) is deemed inferior.

2. Even the most stubborn and self-assured individuals may find themselves under attack for their beliefs, especially when those beliefs directly offend others, and the fact is, no one likes to be defenseless when attacked. Those attacked for defaming the practices and beliefs of others therefore like to search for solid facts to back up their claims. That they show a noted tendency to pick and choose which facts they accept is beside the point.

3. Some people are just jerks.

4. While these traits themselves are not cool, funny, or cute, it IS possible to be cool, funny, or cute despite having one or more of those traits. I believe the problem here lies in the tendency of people to emulate the behavior of people who are cool, funny, or cute, believing such behavior to be the actual source of the coolness/funniness/cuteness, and not comprehending that, instead of managing to become cool, funny, or cute, they simply come across as jerks for mimicking the least desirable (but most obvious) traits of the cool/funny/cute people and overlooking any qualities those people posess that ACTUALLY make them cool/funny/cute.

Wow, I wasn't expecting actual answers! Thank you! It helps a little to get some perspective on it... although I still want to smack these individuals with a clue-by-4.
