A seed within my mind
We just started using Cleo's small accurately measured lactate bags, and man... it is so nice not having to plug in a bag and let it pee in the sink for a while before catching the Cleo. Just heat it up, plug it in, and it's ready to go! Woot! For Ma-tsu I'm now giving her meds on the couch and letting her cruise/sit on me while she gets it down and calms down from having pink sticky stuff forced down her throat. :( She quickly seems to forget it was me who did it, and chills on my lap a bit before it's cage time.
I cannot gush enough about Vertigo's Fables series. Karen and I are loving it. It's hard to describe it's awesomeness without too many spoilers, but how about a die-hard gun-toting revolutionary Goldilocks for starters? And reformed detective Bigby Wolf is awesome in and of himself. Even his name is clever. It's all very cleverly done from Prince Charming and his multiple ex-wives (happily ever after, not his forte) to Beast only staying in human form when Beauty isn't mad at him. And all in the modern world, hiding out in New York state. If this sounds like fun to you, seriously, check out this series. The only bad thing I can say about it is that after a while the artist switch is... disconcerting. For a bit I didn't recognize Pinocchio at all, and I thought there was a curse on Bigby's face that had partially melted it. Seriously, where did his mouth go? Bleh. But the writing is a blast so we'll overlook the inconsistent art, true to Vertigo form. Not for kids, btw! In case that wasn't clear. :P Snow White seems to stay pretty consistent though, art wise! Also, she swears.
I fixed the counter on my user info to more accurately represent when Karen graduates, since it changed after she doubled up. 3 more months! You can do it hon! It's been stressful and crazy lately, but not much longer now!
Things to look forward to, in no particular order other then as I think of them:
~Karen graduating, WOO! No more essays!
~Healthy Ma-tsu! For serious. :P Hell, healthy everybody!
~New snake enclosures! *squee!*
~Reptile Expo/Karen's birthday (same day always :P)
~Our 6th anniversary!
~Our first real Diwali. :)
~Local Indian grocery visit (Thank you, miz_geek!)
~Art, art, art
~Comics, comics, comics
Um... other than the other big someday things like moving to Oregon, I dunno off the top of my head. But that's lots of positive stuff right there. It's good to focus sometimes on what's good, what there is to look forward to, rather then what currently sucks. Karen and I are both trying to do that more lately. Good for one's mental health. :)
