And so the story goes

I got to play WoW with jc_crowe and elven_wolf today! :) Er, yesterday. Something. Hehe, so fun... Good to adventure with you both! Chewie (aka jc_crowe) amused me greatly earlier by saying they were coming out with WoW movie. "I think it's called 'Revenge of the N00bs: The roflcopter Saga." lol! Man, Karen and I love this game. Well, our whole family does practically. We're gonna have to cut down on Netflix DVDs to like... 1, as we're not being very good about keeping up with the movies now. Also, I should probably, you know, get work done. ;P Easy to get sucked into "One more quest".

Ooh, and speaking of movies we pre-ordered Pan's Labyrinth! <3 Coming out on the 15th.

And speaking of fangirling, Virgin Comics is also coming out with India Authentic #1 appropriately enough entitled Ganesha! Karen and I have really been enjoying the India inspired series that Virgin has been coming out with and India Authentic looks very promising. The futuristic Ramayan 3392AD series is a very interesting way of telling that story, but I'm really looking forward to something less sci-fi.

"They're a motley crew, our Indian Gods. You've seen them, the ones with blue skin, with multiple arms, and the occassional animal head in place of a human one. Together they create a pantheon that ranges broadly (depending on who you ask) from a couple dozen to a few hundred to thirty-three million (according to a certain passage in a certain scripture). On the other hand, if you read the small print, some scholars and sages will proclaim that there is actually only one Supreme Being and the other thirty-odd million are just different facets of the one. Go figure.

The point is, even if you're an expert on Indian Gods, you'll never know it all. But to begin chipping away at this pantheon is well worth the effort. This May, Virgin Comics will launch a series of comic books entitled India Authentic. It is not meant to be the definitive anthology of Indian mythology, but rather an exploration of the many gods, kings, and legends that we think are the most compelling stories of our culture. As it is with all Virgin titles, our goal within this series is to do something fresh, offering readers a glimpse of a world they don't often see. We're calling it "authentic" because it is our intention to present the tales as faithfully as we can so that our readers can experience the characters and stories in all their glory.

Looking forward to that! I wish their website was better, because some of the preview art I've seen looks absolutely gorgeous for this series, and yet I cannot find it on the site. The Sadhu keeps tempting me, but they're making a movie of it starring Nic Cage and so I think maybe not so much. :P Just to spare myself the pain.

Also, may or may not be helping somebody out with the relocating of a wild gopher snake! We shall see. Hopefully, the folks in question will realize how helpful and what a good little neighbor he is and decide to let him stay, but if not wee herping adventure. :)
