What will the coming year hold?
We have well and truly left 2004 behind now, but its legacy will live on as events from the recent past continue to haunt us.
My heart goes out to the hundreds of thousands of people in Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Maldives and all the other countries directly affected by the tsunami and earthquake on December 26. I encourage everyone to "spare a dime" and give to a charity that is giving aid. Any small amount will help.
But as sad and horrifying as this collossal tragedy is, we must not forget that elsewhere in the world, individuals unrelated to it are still facing the trials ans tribulations of their lives. My thoughts are with those families who have lost or are faced with losing loved ones at a time when we should all be celebrating.
I don't mean to start the year on a complete downer, so I'm still going to wish everyone a Happy, Prosperous and Healthy New Year.
