I started on Monday, but yet again I didn't move out. You're so not dying, I'm betting that Evvy has just always been jealous of your big room, so she wants a step up. Plus, I'm betting she won't be able to stop thinking about you, seeing that it's your room, and it probably smells like you and stuff. I'm sure Cheeki will miss you, and the kitties.. I've never met the puppy, but puppy too, I'm sure. And knowing your mom and dad, you'll always be in their prayers and you'll have incessant voice messages awaiting you once you return to your dorm.
Home is never quite the same after you move out, you come back and visit, and these people really love you, and it's as wonderful and obnoxious as it ever was, but it'll be a place where you crash. College dorms aren't home, but they're wonderful from what I hear. You'll have fun living in the dorms with all the people being bored and doing crazy things for fun.
Home will take a while to find, because now you'll have to make it into a home yourself, but your family is quite stuck with you. They'll get used to your new schedule only because they have to.
And hey, you've got wonderful friends (if I do say so myself, and only like the couple of times per year we get to talk) and you're on my mind and I'm in Chicago, for pete's sake! We love ya babe, have a BLAST at college! Call/write to me ANY time, I'm going through most of the same stuff.

I love you, that made me feel so much better, I almost started crying from being happy.
I'm off to do the final check around the house, and then we're off to Amherst!
Wish me luck!
