It's really hard for me to concentrate now that the weather is getting nice. I go outside to read or study and instead end up looking at birds, plants, and people watching.  I'm so excited for things to begin sprouting in the botanical garden!

I finally got to go see the room I'm living in next year, and it was a bit disappointing. I absolutely love the building it's in, and the location; but I imagined my room being like most of the other rooms in the hall--- beautiful crank open windows with sills, old hard wood closets and shelves. Instead, I am in the basement with a teeny window near the ceiling on the far wall, and one closet with a folding plastic door. The shame is, in the room right next to me they have 4 wood closets, and 2 lovely windows. I guess it's really just a trade off because I get to live in the beautiful part of campus, in a beautiful old building on a floor with only 4 rooms near mine (which should be nice, quiet and good for building close relationships). I met some of the girls I'm living near and they all seem to be really nice and friendly.

I've decided to fix my problem I'm going to paint a very large canvas with leaves and tree branches, to hang below my window in substitution. That way, it can be green all year long!

I also found some old encyclopedia type books with Kaitlyn at the used bookstore for 50 cents. They had one for every season/month of every year, (I got summer '69 and sept. '58) but the information inside of them is arbitrary concerning the year they were published-- filled with completely random information on a variety of obscure subjects (the history of hot air balloons, why men seek adventure, how humankind utilizes the ecosystem, the controversial memoirs of Igor Stravinsky). The best part is, they have page large color photographs and artwork that I can take out and use as posters.

I'm still very lost on the job front, but I've decided to stop thinking quite so 'practically' and try to go for something I feel a bit more passionate about.
